As the popularity of the Internet has grown, so has
the number of businesses eager to use it to advertise their
companies and sell products. But not everyone has the information
and skills necessary to launch and maintain a commercial Web
site.
To answer this need, Michelle and Jeff Herrin of
Alternate Image Inc. and the Small Business Development Center at
Daytona Beach College are presenting a three-part workshop
developed to assist small to mid-sized businesses succeed
online.
Sessions will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday as
well as June 9 and 23 at the college's main campus, 1200 W.
International Speedway Blvd., Building 110, Room 249.
Participants will learn how to implement effective
online marketing, define their company's Web presence and make
the right decisions regarding e-commerce, Web site security,
hosting and e-mail.
The workshop's other topics include: how search
engines work; pay per click advertising and management techniques;
search engine optimization; what people are searching for; business
blogging; building visibility; viral marketing; creating online
press releases for Google and Yahoo; the importance of online
newsletters and analyzing Web statistics.
Information also will be given regarding important
tools and resources, free tools available online to help improve
Web site traffic, link strategies, the 25 best sites ranked by
Alexa and Google and local marketing.
