AI Develops First Mobile Site for DaytonaBeach.com
|
Alternate Image is pleased to announce the recent launch of the DaytonaBeach.com mobile site for the Daytona Beach CVB. This is the first mobile site that Alternate Image has developed and we are proud to launch it just in time for the Daytona Beach CVB's Festival 2.0 Campaign. Key team members for this project were programmers Jeff Herrin and John Peron and graphic designer Graham Goerner, who worked hard to make the Daytona Beach CVB's vision come to life in a functional, well designed mobile site.
What does the mobile site have? This is a smaller version of the website that is scaled down to the standard mobile phone screen size. Images are kept to a minimum to ensure a quick loading time on your phone's browser. The buttons are larger so that users with touch screens can easily select what they want to see and the mobile site is very simple and easy to use on a mobile phone.
"Our vision was to make the mobile site design consistent with the existing full site - DaytonaBeach.com, and yet have the content, calendar events, and attraction information update when the full site was updated. This would eliminate the need to update two separate sites. The goal of the Daytona Beach CVB was to display the most important information that visitors on the go would need to see. Tourists can use this mobile site as a personal concierge to find local activities, attractions, and events in Daytona Beach and it's surrounding areas. For users who have not booked their stay yet, they can browse through the hotels on their phone to see rates, hotel pictures, and even book their reservation. This is a great tool for tourists and we are excited to see Daytona Beach have a mobile site at a time when smart phones have become increasingly more and more popular as a way for people to view websites and check hotel rates."- Jeff Herrin, President of Alternate ImageSee screenshots of the mobile site as viewed on an iPhone:Mobile Site Home Page
